Ohio State University has received a $100 million donation, most of which will go to the university’s medical center.
The gift comes from Limited Brands founder Leslie Wexner and his Limited Brands Foundation. Wexner is chairman of the university’s board of trustees and a 1959 graduate of Ohio State.
More specifically, Wexner’s gift is earmarked for the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, as well as a few other university initiatives, according to a statement from Ohio State.

OSU Medical Center is in the midst of a $1.1 billion expansion that until recently had been christened “ProjectOne.”
“I thought it was a terrible, terrible name,” said Andrew Sorensen, the university’s senior vice president for development, according to Business First Columbus. “I’m pleased to say that it’s dead.”
The project, which OSU broke ground on last year, will now simply be referred to as an “expansion.” The expansion is expected to have an annual economic impact of $1.7 billion by 2015 and create 10,000 jobs, according to OSU.
Plans call for a tower that houses a new cancer hospital and research institute, along with a new critical-care building, and spaces for research, education and patient care.
