A Minneapolis company that serves as a matchmaker for hospitals and blood banks is seeking $1 million, according to a regulatory filing.
General Blood has already raised $650,000.
The startup’s website says it leverages a network of blood banks to find the best price for blood products including blood, platelets and plasma. It delivers those products to research facilities, hospitals and group purchasing organizations. That model helps blood banks better manage excess blood products and make more money, according to the company.
