A newborn has been named Hashtag. Call the psychiatrist, quick.
Hashtag Jameson entered the blue planet at around 10 p.m. Saturday, reports Mashable. And yes, it would be fair to assume that during much of her life — OK, at least through junior high — she will feel the blues. Oh yes, and hate her parents.
Yet, she will find another companion in her misery — another soul sister — because Hashtag’s parents aren’t the only social media-obsessed parents around. There’s also this story of an Egyptian man who named his firstborn — a girl — Facebook in tribute to the role that the social media-giant played in the Egyptian movement that toppled Hosni Mubarak.
Now all we need is a newborn boy or girl named LinkedIn and the pharma companies will have a field day peddling depression-fighting medication to the trio.
