NextDocs, a software provider helping life science companies run clinical trials more efficiently, has raised $5 million, according to a Form D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The goal of NextDocs is to help life science companies shift from paper-based to digital documentation and comply with regulators like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
It provides a document repository to give customers easy access to trial documentation.
NextDocs has a technology partnership with Microsoft and develops software that’s compatible with Microsoft’s enterprise collaboration software, SharePoint. In a bid to diversify its customer base, NextDocs launched a cloud-based compliance software for emerging life science companies called QuickStart, earlier this year. The software package is intended to help small businesses new to electronic content management rapidly establish a compliance program.
