Kleenex tissue maker Kimberly-Clark Corp is being sued for more than $500 million by the Southern California- based law firm Law firm Eagan Avenatti for falsely representing their surgical gowns are impermeable, protecting those who wear them from Ebola.
The company’s “MICROCOOL Breathable High Performance Surgical Gowns” are just too good to be true, apparently. And what a shame because we really could use some uplifting developments right about now.
The company has decided not to comment on the issue at this point.

The class-action lawsuit has been filed in Los Angeles due to the fact that the gowns had failed industry tests and did not meet relevant standards for protection against Ebola.
“Kimberly-Clark needs to immediately recall these gowns and come clean with the FDA, CDC, healthcare professionals and the general public,” lead attorney Michael Avenatti said in a statement.
Altogether it seems like some of the progressions in tackling Ebola aren’t necessarily falling into place like we might have hoped. After all, this is what New York Gov. Cuomo had to say about the quarantine procedures:
