A Deep-dive Into Specialty Pharma

A specialty drug is a class of prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic or rare medical conditions. Although this classification was originally intended to define the treatment of rare, also termed “orphan” diseases, affecting fewer than 200,000 people in the US, more recently, specialty drugs have emerged as the cornerstone of treatment for chronic and complex diseases such as cancer, autoimmune conditions, diabetes, hepatitis C, and HIV/AIDS.

There is one major change to the competition: Startups that have pitched at any MedCity event in the past 12 months are not eligible to take part and should not apply. We made this change to ensure that different startups get the chance to present on stage.

The application deadline is 5PM Eastern on June 10. Finalists will be informed latest by August 16. There is no fee to participate but finalists will pay a nominal fee to pitch and access the entire conference.

Please apply now.
