Amy Hanson

Dr. Amy Hanson earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Hanson completed her PGY-1 Residency at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, IL, and her PGY-2 Residency specializing in Infectious Diseases at Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) in Chicago, IL. She was the Infectious Disease Pharmacist at RUMC for 7 years, and in 2018 transitioned to Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) coordinating Antimicrobial Stewardship initiatives in outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. During her time at CDPH, Dr. Hanson served as a Subject Matter Expert consultant on the Antibiotic Access Use workgroup of the Presidential Advisory Council to Combat Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria, or PACCARB. This is Dr. Hanson’s first year at IDbyDNA, a precision metagenomics company, as a Medical Science Liaison on the Medical & Scientific Affairs team, and she is enjoying the opportunity to advance the field of infectious disease diagnostics.
