Juliette McClendon

Juliette McClendon is a mental health equity researcher, psychologist, and Director of Medical Affairs at Big Health, a digital therapeutics company focused on mental health. As a former professor of psychiatry at Boston University and psychologist at the National Center for PTSD at the VA Boston Healthcare System, Dr. McClendon has studied racial and ethnic disparities in mental healthcare extensively with an emphasis on identifying stress-related mechanisms of disparities to inform health interventions. McClendon takes an intersectional approach that characterizes the impact of racial stress and trauma on the mental and physical health of people of color. She is also a clinician who takes a trauma-informed, evidence-based and culturally sensitive approach to helping diverse, socioeconomically disadvantaged patients respond adaptively to psychological problems in order to improve their functioning. Dr. McClendon is dedicated to increasing the representation of psychologists of color in clinical settings and academia.
