Obama apology for syphilis tests a win for medical ethics
Mentally ill Guatemalan patients were intentionally infected with syphilis by American researchers in the 1940s. President Obama apologized for this lapse in medical ethics and ordered a review of all federally funded research involving human subjects. Third world citizens deserve first class medical ethics.
