University Hospitals names new leader for its Geauga campus

M. Steven Jones begins Monday as president in Geauga County, on the eastern border of Cleveland’s Cuyahoga County. He served as the vice president there and earlier was vice president of the health systems’ musculoskeletal and neuroscience services at UH.

CHARDON, Ohio — Cleveland’s University Hospitals has tapped the vice president of Geauga Medical Center to lead the facility.

M. Steven Jones begins Monday as president in Geauga County, which is on the eastern border of Cleveland’s Cuyahoga County. He served as the vice president in Geauga, as well as vice president of the health systems’ musculoskeletal and neuroscience services.

He joined UH in 2006 from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he had a similar position in the hospital’s musculoskeletal and neuroscience departments.

Jones replaces Richard Frenchie, the longtime president in Geauga who is now going to raise money for the health system in a new job — chief development and community relations officer — focusing on Geauga.
