“Yawn,” “Can’t wait to use it” & more reactions to Health 2.0 startup demos

October 9, 2012 6:45 pm by | 2 Comments

Eight new digital health companies were unveiled today during Health 2.0‘s annual Launch! session, and the Twitterverse didn’t go easy on them.

In a series of quick, 3.5-minute demos, the companies presented their products to conference attendees, who then voted for their favorites. TicTrac, a dashboard that lets users aggregate and organize the data from many of the apps they already use, was the audience-selected winner and will get to demo on the main stage at next year’s conference.

MedCity News couldn’t be at Health 2.0 this year, so we followed all the startup action via social media. Check out some of the attendees’ reactions to the eight companies that now join Castlight Health and HealthPrize and more than 40 other startups as Launch! alumni.

First Stop Health – A tool to consult with physicians 24/7

Share the Visit - Teleconferencing medical appointments for family and friends

MeQuilibrium – Online stress management

TicTrac – Tracking tool for “life’s mini projects” that integrates with existing apps

Unfrazzle – Care coordination app for a care team and a patient’s family members

LifeVest Health – Investing in your health, and friends and family can invest in you too

EveryMove – Wellness rewards from insurers, employers and brands (we wrote about them back in May)

share.md – Doctors share thoughts, images, or questions

Hey!  Who said Yawn? No one in this twitter feed. The only guy yawning was the moderator @boltyboy hitting the wall after no sleep for a week and mangling Everymove's Russ Benaroya's name! All the new companies were really exciting--although there's no guarantee they'll all be successful--realistically that can't happen--they're all pointing at really important problems.
