MedCity CONVERGE is a day away. Leaders from throughout healthcare — from UnitedHealth to Pfizer to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to Mayo Clinic and beyond — will gather Tuesday and Wednesday in Philadelphia to outline what’s coming next in some of the biggest opportunities in healthcare.

This is your last chance to register and attend the event. If you’re still considering joining this national gathering of healthcare leaders, here are some reasons to attend CONVERGE and why it will be beneficial to everyone in attendance.

See what’s up and coming in healthcare innovation in the Startup Showcase

Early stage innovation is a key focus of CONVERGE. The Startup Showcase, presented by Pfizer, has an array of innovative early stage companies presenting ideas from the latest health applications for Google Glass to genetics-based cancer tests to digital tools around taking pills and end-of-life decisions. Several showcase attendees will be onstage at CONVERGE. Plus, along with the startups in the showcase, more than 40 other early stage digital health and life sciences companies are registered to attend.

Brightest minds in healthcare share experiences and philosophies

More than 50 speakers from across healthcare are participating, including keynote speakers Bryan Sivak from HHS and Adrian Rawcliffe, GlaxoSmithKline’s senior vice president for finance in North America pharmaceuticals.

Beyond the keynotes are a series of half-hour one-on-one discussions with executives including the CEO of Independence Blue Cross, the medical director for Mayo Clinic’s Center for Connected Care, a worldwide medical director from Intel, a director focused on healthcare entrepreneurship from Kauffman Foundation and the vice president of advocacy from PatientsLikeMe.

That is only the beginning.

Innovators explain challenges and provide solutions

Five members of the CONVERGE Startup Showcase will take the stage for the summit’s Insights from Innovators Series: quick and insightful presentations about the challenges entrepreneurs and innovators are facing (and meeting) in healthcare. Many in the healthcare industry can point out problems, think of solutions or create a product. However, innovation has many factors for success: from overcoming speaking the language of healthcare to discovering (and trying to excite the rest of the medical industry) around unmet needs. This is a great opportunity for all facets of healthcare to not only see what others are attempting but to gain knowledge and apply it to their own businesses.

No limit on involvement

The main point of CONVERGE is to provide one place where you can get the most accurate picture of where healthcare innovation is going by bringing together leaders from across all sectors to discuss, in actionable ways, the real opportunities in medicine. CONVERGE brings together hospitals, pharma, startup companies, venture capitalists, biotech experts, payers, innovators and more. It’s a gathering of leaders who will move the industry forward and CONVERGE is a rare gathering of a group with that diversity. Throughout the two days, there are many chances to personally meet high-level decision-makers in all of those areas. There are chances to ask questions of the speakers, discuss with organized panels, learn about products and philosophies from innovators and more.

Experience all of those reasons to attend by registering now for MedCity CONVERGE July 9-10 in Philadelphia.
