Two healthcare startups will present at today’s live-streamed White House Demo Day

The first ever White House Demo Day designed to exhibit startups looking for venture funding will include two focused on healthcare.

For the first time, startups looking for venture funding will present in an exhibit at the White House, which will be streamed live starting today at 2 pm EDT. Among them are two companies in healthcare.

First, Sparo Labs is based out of St. Louis and is presenting its sensor and app product that allows patients with asthma to measure their lung capacity. The user breathes into a microphone and the data is transmitted to the app for either the patient or physician to monitor. The company is looking to empower patients by having the opportunity to be proactive and receive real-time data that can be extremely useful.

The second company to present at White House Demo Day is called Suneris. This Brooklyn-based startup has created a plant-based hemostatic gel called Vetigel designed for the use of veterinarians to stop bleeding almost instantly on soft tissue. This unique technology, presumably, could be useful in treatment for humans in the future.

White House Demo Day will be available to stream live here.
