Medibio is looking to diagnose mental health disorders by examining how heart activity fluctuates. According to a release, Medtronic looks to be on board for the use of a product that could be used to monitor worker stress or depression.
The company, which is based in Australia but has ties in Minneapolis, is looking to take advantage of the device expertise Medtronic has to offer, particularly with the involvement of the heart-monitoring patch called Seeq. Medtronic picked up the Seeq patch from the St. Paul-based startup Corventus Inc.
With the Rise of AI, What IP Disputes in Healthcare Are Likely to Emerge?

The Seeq Mobile Cardiac Telemetry System is a Band Aid-like patch that monitors heart activity and transmits data over a cellular network. The device, which is worn for 30 days, then sends data to clinicians.
Medibio also entered a memorandum of understanding with Preventice Inc. this summer, a company that makes a cardiac-monitoring device also out of the Twin Cities and Rochester, Minnesota.
