MedCity Media, the publisher of MedCityNews.com, will hire a community manager to build deeper relationships with its readers and attract new ones. We’re looking for a naturally social critical thinker who is ambitious; has some expertise in headline writing and SEO; is fascinated with data and what drives success for modern media companies; is familiar with content management systems as well as software like InDesign and Excel; and has a knowledge of healthcare. If you have some or all of those characteristics, we want to hear from you.

Duties include:

  • Soliciting and posting third-party (syndicated) content
  • Executing social media strategy and traffic-driving strategic partnerships
  • Managing special features that build a deeper relationship with readers
  • Moderating comments & other reader activity on our sites
  • Tracking, reporting and processing metrics that will drive new strategies on audience engagement

This is an entry-level position (low 30s not including quarterly bonuses). But the job has a lot of upside and room to grow in the company. MedCity staff members climb the ladder quickly or get hired by some of the biggest brands in healthcare (including Cleveland Clinic and UBM). If you join us you’re part of a team that works extraordinarily hard, has fun, tries new things, loves what it’s doing, and is excited to be changing the world of healthcare and media.

There is no geographic requirement for this position.
