ClinicalRM has signed a five-year, $97 million contract with the U.S. Army to support development of drugs, vaccines and therapies for diseases “of strategic interest” to the military.
The contract also calls for the Hinckley, Ohio-based company, previously known as Clinical Research Management, to develop therapeutics to “enhance warfighter resilience and reduce and mitigate the impact of brain injury and combat stress,” according to a statement from ClinicalRM, a clinical research organization.
The work will be performed at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland.
CEO Victoria Tifft said the company has worked with the U.S. armed forces for 18 years and has helped with research, clinical trials and regulatory consulting. Tifft previously worked as a contractor at Walter Reed after a stint in the Peace Corps.
The new contract starts on July 1.
Earlier this year, ClinicalRM adopted its new, shorter name “to better differentiate itself among providers of clinical trial and research services for both pharmaceuticals and medical devices,” according to a statement from the company in March.
