Quintiles has named a former executive from medical devices company Teleflex (NYSE:TFX) to a top financial position at the pharmaceutical services firm.
Charles Williams will serve as worldwide controller for Durham, North Carolina-based Quintiles, reporting directly to the company’s CFO Kevin Gordon. Williams had served as corporate controller and chief accounting officer for Teleflex, a Pennsylvania based medical devices manufacturer that generates about $2 billion in annual revenue. Quintiles is the largest clinical research organization in the CRO industry, with more than $3 billion in annual revenue.

Williams has 34 years of corporate finance and accounting experience. Before joining Teleflex, he held senior finance positions with Carrier Corporation and Uniroyal Chemical Company. Gordon and Williams worked together during Gordon’s tenure as CFO of Teleflex. Gordon joined Quintiles last year.
“Charlie brings a diverse, international financial background and experience to Quintiles,” Gordon said in a statement. “He has an extensive background in financial analysis, reporting regulations, acquisition evaluation and integration as well as financial process improvements among his other talents.”
Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley College and is a certified public accountant.
