Just a few months after raising $15 million, mobile health IT company Medivo is putting some of that money to work. It has acquired OnTrack Diabetes, an app produced by GExperts, according to a company statement.

The price was not disclosed.

OnTrack is a free Android app that helps diabetics manage their disease by tracking blood glucose levels, food intake, medication, blood pressure, pulse, exercise and weight. It produces charts, graphs and reports that can be sent to providers and care takers. It also has a reminder alert to remind users to take a glucose test two hours after eating. It’s also popular — it’s been downloaded by half a million users.

Medivo uses its cloud-based platform to improve the quality of interactions between patients and physicians and makes it easier for patients to communicate with labs. In addition to OnTrack, Medivo has apps for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, hereditary angioedema, and chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Merck Global Health Innovation Fund led a Series B round for Medivo in June, but Medivo also received venture capital financing from Safeguard Scientifics and Mentor Tech Ventures.

In a phone interview earlier this year, CEO and co-founder Sundeep Bhan said it wants to deepen its analytics services by hiring 20-30 people including specialists who can help it look at additional health care gaps and conditions.

A direct channel to improve consumer access to their lab tests is expected to go live later this year.
