MyRounding, a Colorado-based digital health startup, won first place in a competition hosted by the Prime Health Collaborative for designing a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant platform for hospitals to collect patient data.

The company got a $25,000 cash prize for its platform and mobile app, which it says permits hospitals to securely collect and share data for analysis and reporting. And that, in turn, helps hospitals collect a higher reimbursement rate from payers, the company said. Its platform is currently being used by more than three dozen hospitals across the country.

MyRounding beat out 12 other digital health companies to take the top spot at the 2014 Prime Digital Health Challenge. It and the 12 others were selected out of more than 100 applicants.

“With over 40 hospitals and healthcare systems across the country now using our platform, we are helping to shine the spotlight on the great work emerging in the Colorado market,” said David Marshall, founder and COO, in a statement.

MyRounding is headed by Marshall and CEO Tony Gorski.

The Prime Health Collaborative, founded in 2012, is focused on Colorado’s digital health landscape. It’s headed by founder Jake Rishavy.
