Together Clinic, a Nebraska startup that seeks to help physicians quickly view patient conditions with a new mobile app, has raised a seed round of $500,000 led by fellow physician investors, the company said.
Founded by Dr. Richard Thompson and Dr. Ryan Whitne, both cardiologists, just six months ago, the Lincoln-based startup has developed an Andriod app that it ways will help with physician workflow and reducing readmissions. An iOS version is in the works and the app is free.
Initially, the app will focus on cardiology patients but it will expand over time to areas like COPD, diabetes, hypertension and others, according to the company, which will hire additional staff with the seed round.
With the Rise of AI, What IP Disputes in Healthcare Are Likely to Emerge?
Munck Wilson Mandala Partner Greg Howison shared his perspective on some of the legal ramifications around AI, IP, connected devices and the data they generate, in response to emailed questions.
The app leverages real-time data and has been shown to improve patient care and decrease costs related to chronic disease and post-operative care, it said.
At a glance, physicians can quickly review patient conditions, and follow-up accordingly before more expensive intervention is needed. The Together Clinic algorithm, the company said, can interpret data “in a matter of seconds.”
Through provider-driven enrollment, patients of varying technological backgrounds have been quick to adopt the Together Clinic application, the company said.
