Patient engagement firm GetWellNetwork, Bethesda, Maryland, has acquired competitor Skylight Healthcare Systems, based in San Diego, to form what the companies are calling the nation’s largest “interactive patient care” firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Effective patient engagement — the kind of engagement that actually leads to better outcomes — is a science that requires years of expertise to cultivate. Skylight’s employees and clients share that vision with us,” GetWellNetwork founder and CEO Michael O’Neil said in a press release.
