VOX Telehealth

Vox_Telehealth 600

Name:  VOX Telehealth
Location: Princeton, New Jersey
Money Raised: $4 million

The Product
VOX Telehealth provides procedure-specific, web-based solutions that empower patients to be active and effective partners in their episodes of care. OrthoCare is designed for orthopedic patients undergoing joint (hip or knee) replacement surgery. Robust platform capabilities provide optimal patient engagement with education, alert escalation, notification and tracking functionality. Proprietary features of OrthoCare include Active Px, SmartTask and Px Mail to best engage and monitor the patient’s behavior to ensure the best clinical outcome possible.

The Impact
Patients who have used the OrthoCare program have demonstrated a higher discharge-to-Home rate, a lower 30-day readmission rate, a shorter length-of-stay and a higher overall patient satisfaction rate. In addition, users of OrthoCare have a significantly higher (55 percent) opinion of their clinical staff and 91 percent express overall satisfaction with their care.

The biggest economic impact has been lowering the discharge-to-Home rate, as this avoids the potentially expensive skilled nursing facility that can cost over $5,000 per episode. Coupled with a shorter overall hospital stay and a reduced 30-day readmission rate, real savings are being demonstrated by patients using OrthoCare.
