Why did you start this company?

“We started Moving Analytics because we felt that there was a clear opportunity to save the lives of millions of adults by solving problems of accessibility and cost.”

What specific need/problem are you seeking to address in healthcare?

“7 Million patients suffer from cardiac events in the United States annually. For these patients, cardiac rehab (CR) is a proven program to cut their risk of remissions by a third and double five year life-expectancy. However only 15% of patients enroll in CR because it’s inconvenient (36 hospital visits, long distances). Lack of participation means that hospitals lose revenue and are liable for readmission penalties.”

What does your product do? How does it work?

“Movn is a comprehensive digital rehab and prevention program that allows a provider to serve three times as many patients, earn additional revenue and save readmission costs. Movn includes evidence-based care plans; cloud-based patient management software and implementation services to make the implementation of rehab seamless.”

Is this your first healthcare startup? What’s your background in healthcare?

“Yes, I previously worked in research developing products that sense daily human behaviors and correlate to risk of energy expenditure.”

What is your company’s business model?

“We offer two options – $1000/patient-year for a fully outsourced program with MA health coaches or $350/patient-year for a platform license with a hospitals internal coaches, minimum 200 patient order. $2M annual contract potential per site.”

Who is your customer? How do you generate revenue?

“Our customer is a risk bearing hospital with 5,000 or more cardiac patients. The buyer is the VP of Cardiovascular Services.”

Do you have clinical validation for your product?

“Movn is based on MULTIFIT a chronic disease management program has been clinically validated in Stanford and Kaiser Permanente across 70,000 patients. MULTIFIT has shown 40% all-cause readmission reduction, 60% enrollment, 90% completion and equivalent clinical outcomes. Moving Analytics has a 20 year worldwide license to MULTIFIT. Our team has over 75 combined years in designing and implemented home-based disease management programs.”
