Thousands of the healthcare industry’s most forward-thinking executives will make their way to Las Vegas for the second annual HLTH conference October 27-30 at the MGM Grand. This year, MedCity News is teaming up with HLTH to roll our annual ENGAGE event into the HLTH conference. ENGAGE@HLTH will cast a spotlight on patient engagement on October 28. The HLTH conference this year will include a set of programs aimed at getting more women into the boardroom and leadership roles in healthcare and life sciences.
Women at HLTH will spotlight initiatives in the healthcare industry that are addressing the disparity of women in executive positions and board roles within healthcare organizations. The track scheduled for October 30 from 1-4 pm will include panel discussions, workshops and networking events to look at ways to close the gender gap.
The main event will include a session moderated by Lisa Suennen of Manatt Phelps & Phillips with presentations from McKinsey on Insights From “Women in the Workplace” in the healthcare industry, Mercer and Women of Impact, which will cover women’s role in realigning the healthcare system to meet the needs of Americans. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will talk about women in engineering for AI in healthcare.
Get on Board will be a networking program in partnership with Deerfield Management and Oxeon Partners to strategically match female executives seeking boardroom positions with interested organizations seeking new board talent.
Advancing women executives in HLTH will be the theme of a lunch by Women of Impact on October 28. It will explore how to successfully mentor, promote and empower female leaders. Everyone, regardless of gender, has a role to play.
Women in HLTH is also collaborating with Oliver Wyman on a women in healthcare leadership survey. The goal is to demystify perceptions of what makes good leadership, create awareness of where people differ and converge on aspirations and expectations, and ultimately make invisible barriers visible for all. The survey will be released on October 27 with the kickoff of the conference.
