Geisinger struck a 10-year agreement with medical technology company Siemens Healthineers. The Danville, Pennsylvania-based health system will get access to Siemens’ imaging equipment and technology solutions.
For example, the hospital system will have access to Siemens’ AI radiology software, which provides analysis of chest CT scans, brain MRIs and other images. Geisinger will also be able to use a clinical decision support tool for patient care, and performance data software for their workforce.

Geisinger operates 13 hospitals across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Michael Haynes, associate vice president of operations for Geisinger Radiology, said the partnership would allow them to identify and respond to health concerns more quickly.
“By expanding our relationship with Geisinger, this becomes one of the largest value partnership relationships in North America and will allow us to work together to improve the patient experience for residents of Pennsylvania and the region,” Siemens Healthineers President of Head of the Americas David Pacitti said in a news release.
Siemens Healthineers went public for $5.2 billion in 2018. In the following year, the German imaging and diagnostics company saw its revenue increase by roughly 8% to $14.52 billion and its net income increase to $1.58 billion.
