Sree Chaguturu is the chief medical officer of CVS Caremark, the pharmacy business of CVS Health, and he was the last guest of the year for MedCity's Pivot podcast. When I spoke with Sree Chaguturu, chief medical officer of CVS Caremark, the pharmacy business of CVS Health, I was struck by his optimism about 2021 and beyond. We spoke in early December when a vaccine EUA was imminent and Amazon had recently announced that it was launching a pharmacy business. Chaguturu tackled both these issues as well as CVS’s role in vaccine distribution as well as testing.

When I asked him about the future, he harkened back to the Spanish Flu of 1918, which was followed in the U.S and Europe by a period of remarkable economic prosperity – Roaring Twenties. That is what he is hoping for in 2021 and beyond.
