Teladoc Health, the global leader in whole-person virtual care, has named Dr. Vidya Raman-Tangella as chief medical officer to lead enterprise clinical strategy, quality and research. Dr. Raman-Tangella will focus on a number of critical areas for the company including health equity, clinical evidence and best practice, and physician training.

She previously worked for Amazon subsidiary, Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she served as general manager of healthcare and life sciences solutions and led the strategy and vision for healthcare solutions. Prior to AWS, Raman-Tangella held leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Johnson & Johnson, and United Healthcare, where she led the design of integrated health and wellness solutions for employers and healthcare plans.

Lark Health has hired Lynne Nowak, MD, as Chief Medical Officer and Shannon Marques as Senior Vice President of Revenue Operations.

Nowak and Marques are tasked with leading Lark’s clinical and operational growth and helping guide the company as it continues to build momentum across key markets.

Nowak has nearly 25 years of experience working, leading, and teaching in the healthcare space. She previously served as the general manager and VP of clinical, data, and provider solutions at Evernorth, She also held various positions at Express Scripts, where she led Cigna’s development initiative focused on enhancing health information exchange and data interoperability capabilities. In her new role, she will be responsible for strategic partnerships, as well as clinical and data solutions.

Marques previously served as the Vice President of Sales in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sector for Salesforce, where she grew a successful healthcare payer sales team. In her new role, she will be responsible for scaling Lark’s new sales ventures, managing sales operations, and expanding existing partnerships.

Zipari has hired Stan Opstad as Chief Product Officer. Opstad will oversee the continued development, innovation and management of all Zipari’s health plan solutions.

Prior to Zipari, Opsted worked for Inovalon where, as a senior vice president of product management, he helped drive new product development, and spurred rapid revenue growth while leading the company’s business development team. He also worked for Surgical Information Systems, Healthland, and Ingenix, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group.

Amwell, a national telehealth leader, has hired Susan Worthy as Chief Marketing Officer. Susan has more than 25 years of experience leading marketing for healthcare services and technology companies. In her new role, Susan will be responsible for leading Amwell’s overall marketing strategy and will play a pivotal part in building the company’s market position to drive growth, as well as shareholder and customer value.

WELL Health Inc., a SaaS digital health leader in patient communications, has named Sarah Shillington as SVP of Customer Experience and Ashu Agte as SVP of Engineering. Both are seasoned technology leaders who join the company at a time of rapid growth as the company seeks to transform healthcare customer service.

Shillington has overseen client organizations at large-scale, global enterprise companies – including at TigerConnect, where she oversaw all aspects of the client experience post-sale as the Chief Client Officer.

Agte is a seasoned software engineering leader and executive with more than 20 years of experience growing engineering teams at hyper growth SaaS companies, including through multiple successful exits. He has a proven track record of product development, team growth and technical innovation.

Gundersen Health System has hired Krister Mattson as vice president of enterprise analytics and data science. Prior to Gundersen, he worked as director of enterprise analytics at Essentia Health where he created a data dcience team to do predictive and advanced analytics and data engineering/AI. He also increased self-service adoption and standardized data access across the system.

IllumiCare, a pioneer in point-of-care health IT, has hired Ralph Keiser as Chief Strategy Officer.

Keiser had been serving as a board advisor to IllumiCare for the past year. Prior to that, he served as CEO of EPSi, a business division of Allscripts from 2016 until its sale to Roper Technologies in October 2020.

Holon Solutions has made a series of executive hires to transform its business.

  • Mike Kaminaka has joined as Chief Growth Officer.
  • Kathy Varney has joined as Chief Marketing Officer. She previousy served as part of the executive management team at
  • Scott Tatro has joined as Chief Customer Officer. He previously worked for health tech vendor Cerner for 15 years. 
  • Nate King will serve as Chief Product and Technology Officer. He previously co-founded AEGERIA, a SaaS-based business strategy platform that provides compelling product strategies and human centered experiences.

Verinovum, a health data curation tech company, has appointed Mureen Allen, MD as Chief Medical Information Officer.

Allen will oversee the design, implementation and road map of the organization’s technology and will guide and support the company’s clinical team. She will also support and inform the team’s marketing strategy.

Allen previously served as Senior Vice President at UnitedHealthcare, where she was responsible for clinical data management and analytics solutions. She also served as a Senior Associate with the American College of Physicians, as Senior Medical Director at Aetna, and as Chief of Staff, UnitedHealth Clinical Services.

Foresight Diagnostics hired Sandra Close, Ph.D., as COO.

Her backgrounds reflects extensive experience in delivering drugs and diagnostics, with a focus on organizational structure, business strategy, and quality and regulatory requirements.

Her previous roles include Chief Diagnostic Strategy Officer at ArcherDX/Invitae. She also served as Chief of Integrative Science and Collaborative Research for BioStatistics Solutions, Inc., Chief Scientific Officer at Arrogen, and as a Research Advisor at Eli Lilly.

 eHealth Technologies, which retrieves and transforms complex medical records into actionable data for clinicians, has promoted Jeff Freier to Vice President of Operations and appointed Sean Ways as Vice President of Engineering. Freier has served in several roles within the organization, such as business program director, senior regional operations director, and director of customer engagement.

Ways previously served as software engineering lead for ISACA, following its purchase of CMMI, a spin-off of Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute, where he modernized technical systems and infrastructure.

Hint Connect, a primary care network that brings together innovative plan sponsors, provider-led networks, and employers with direct primary care providers from across the country, has appointed David Cameron, MD, as Chief Medical Officer to provide clinical oversight as the network expands nationally. Cameron was the first physician of DaVita Inc.’s direct primary care subsidiary, Paladina Health, where he served as a clinician, medical director, and president of the medical group for more than 10 years as the company expanded services to over 21 states.

It also named Beth Holmes as Head of Network Development to help build relationships between DPC practices and employers, third party administrators (TPAs), and other entities to unlock DPC benefits for members.

Base, a health tech company has hired Dr. Murdoc Khaleghi, MD as Chief Medical Officer. He is a founding member of the Everlywell team and serves as Medical Director at several health tech startups such as WellnessFX, Healium, NeuroTrack, and Me Biosciences.

In his new role, he will oversee testing operations, address medical questions from users and help identify new critical health biomarkers to expand the company’s consumer products.

Coriolis Pharma, a company that formulates, researches and develops biopharma drugs, has hired Silvia Steyrer-Gruber as CEO.

Steyrer-Gruber brings strong international leadership experience to Coriolis. She previously served as managing director for Europe at Exeltis (part of the Insud Pharma Group), where she was responsible for the European branded pharmaceutical business of the family-owned Spanish Multinational Healthcare Group. Prior to that, Silvia served at Baxter, Kwizda Pharma and Serono in senior roles, and gained more than 25 years of experience in biotech, vaccine and pharmaceutical companies.

Doceree, a global platform for healthcare professional (HCP) programmatic marketing with proprietary data tools, has appointed Anil Dobhal Global CTO. Dobhal has 24 years of experience steeped in building strong bid landscapes and data security infrastructures in consumer marketing domain.

He will lead Doceree’s global technology and product teams spanning the U.S., Europe and emerging markets.

Prior to joining Doceree, he successfully defined, implemented, and commercialized solutions across different industries, including at Times Internet Limited, Expedia, One97 Communications and GlobalLogic.
