Parth Desai and Dan Gebremedhin

Parth Desai is a Principal at Flare Capital Partners. Prior to joining Flare Capital, Parth was an investor at NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Ventures, responsible for venture investing, commercializing internal innovation and forming strategic partnerships to enhance the hospital’s patient and clinician care experience. At NYP, Parth primarily focused on applications of artificial intelligence to healthcare operations, leading the investment process for NYP’s investments in Saykara, Syllable and Workfusion. Prior to joining NYP Ventures, Parth was a health care strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting, responsible for developing corporate growth strategies, performing M&A due diligence and supporting operational transformations for leading providers, payers and technology companies.

Dan Gebremedhin is a Partner at Flare Capital Partners, where he sits on the Board of Somatus, a Flare Capital portfolio company. Dan also serves on Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Dan was a practicing Internal Medicine Physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital and had a Faculty appointment as Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2010 until 2019.

Prior to joining Flare Capital, Dan served as a Medical Director at the Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan, leading Population Health Analytics, Value-Based Purchasing, and General Strategy. Dan also spent time as an entrepreneur and operator in the Health IT Industry, cofounding and managing two separate businesses in the Electronic Health Records and Online Medical Education industries.
