Ability Network, supplier of web-based tools to manage healthcare administrative processes, has acquired eHealth Data Solutions, which offers revenue-cycle management for long-term and post-acute care providers. The two companies did not announce terms of the deal, but said that eHDS employees would join Ability.

Ability Network Chairman and CEO Mark A. Pulido said that eHealth’s products, services and customer base give Ability “new growth opportunities” in post-acute care.

“Combining eHDS with Ability expands our sales reach and service level for our customers,” John Sheridan, founder and CEO of Yellow Springs, Ohio-based eHealth, said in a statement. “Ability brings the scale and excellence to succeed in a changing market, as providers seek ways to improve clinical and financial performance to thrive in a value-based care environment.”

On the company blog, eHDS described the sale to Minneapolis-based Ability as a “strategic change of direction.”

Ability Network itself had been bought by private equity firm Summit Partners in 2014 for $550 million.
