ThermalTherapeutic Systems Inc. signed a “strategic alliance” with Boston-based medical device developer and distributor Applied Medical Products and Solutions Inc.

The terms of the deal were not released, but ThermalTherapeutic’s Veratherm Portable Hyperthermic Perfusion System is the company’s first offering.

The Pittsburgh-based company won 510(k) clearance from the Food & Drug Administration for the device in March.

At time, ThermalTherapeutic called the clearance a “critical step” for the company, which began selling the device a month later. It’s designed to pump fluid into the abdomen or chest cavity of patients suffering from hypothermia during hyperthermic perfusion treatment.

“With significant expertise and reach in the perfusion, diagnostic and therapeutic markets, Applied Medical Products not only provides our company with immediate access to the medical community in the greater New England area, but possess a deep understanding of the emerging opportunities in the broader market with respect to critical perfusion services and applications,” ThermalTherapeutic CEO Raymond Vennare said in prepared remarks.
