New Ohio Hospital Association hire to help with health IT

Amy Andres has worked crafting health IT policy and other issues in the medical community and will now work with hospitals in Ohio. The Ohio Hospital Association hired the former Ohio Department of Insurance chief of staff as its director of data services.

The Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) has hired a former Ohio Department of Insurance chief of staff as its director of data services.

Any Andres will be charged with helping hospitals in Ohio better integrate information technology into their operations, according to a statement from the OHA.

Andres also was chairman of the executive board of Ohio Health Information Partnership, a nonprofit that’s received federal funding to help doctors and hospitals in the state electronically exchange medical information.

“Everything’s about getting physicians to use technology in a way that will help them provide better care at a lower cost,” she said in an interview with MedCity News earlier this year.
