10 startups from mHealth 2011: Force Therapeutics

The online physical therapy platform developed by Force Therapeutics allows physical therapists to convey exercise instructions to their patients. A practicing physical therapist herself, Bronwyn Spira, president of Force Therapeutics, designed the software from an industry insider’s point of view.

More than 40 seed and early stage companies took to the showroom floor at this year’s mHealth Summit in Washington D.C., which ended Wednesday. Many were sponsored by incubators including StartUp Health and Rock Health. This is one of a series of posts I’m publishing that includes elevator pitches from 10 of the companies I liked.

Force Therapeutics

The  online physical therapy platform developed by Force Therapeutics allows physical therapists to convey exercise instructions to their patients. A practicing physical therapist herself, Bronwyn Spira, president of Force Therapeutics, designed the software from an industry insider’s point of view.

The company was founded in 2009 by Spira and Mark Lieberman, a health technology executive and serial entrepreneur. Force Therapeutics was sponsored by Startup Health at the start up pavilion at the mHealth summit in Washington, D.C.

“There is a physical therapy portal, there is a patient portal and each has a different bulletin board so physical therapists address all the efficiencies of day-to-day clinical practice with their patients and patients get to see all the exercises that have been assigned, their appointments, their gear and any messages sent by their physical therapists,” said Spira.
