Cardinal Health (NYSE:CAH) has hired the former CEO of the West Wireless Health Institute as the new leader of its medical products and services business.
Don Casey Jr.’s tenure as CEO of Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal’s medical segment is scheduled to begin on April 16, according to a statement from the company.
Cardinal’s $9 billion medical segment sells various medical products and services to hospitals, physicians’ offices and long-term care facilities. Its offerings range from simple medical devices like surgical gloves and masks to more complex products such as surgical kits.

Casey left the West Wireless Health Institute in March, but has remained on its board of directors and will continue to do so.
Founded in 2009, the Institute is a nonprofit dedicated to research into lowering health costs through technology and innovation. Casey was the organization’s first CEO.
Prior to West Wireless, Casey was worldwide chairman for Johnson & Johnson’s comprehensive care group. In that role, he oversaw its cardiovascular, diagnostic, diabetes and vision care franchises around the world, according to his bio.
