Outcome Health taps new CEO from the advertising world

The startup's new leader is Matt McNally, who currently serves as group president and chief media officer of Publicis Health.

Chicago startup Outcome Health, which installs screens that run educational content and advertisements in physicians’ offices, has selected a new leader: Matt McNally, who currently serves as group president and chief media officer of Publicis Health, a healthcare advertising company.

The news was revealed in an email to employees, according to The Chicago Tribune.

McNally’s first few weeks with the company will be in late June or early July. He will be based at Outcome Health’s New York office, but he plans to travel to Chicago soon, the email said.

Notably, Publicis Health’s parent company is Publicis Group, which pulled its ads from Outcome Health’s boards last year after reports that the startup misled advertising clients. A Publicis spokeswomen did not immediately comment on her company’s relationship with Outcome, according to the Tribune.

In January, the Chicago startup settled a lawsuit with investors from its hefty $500 million Series A round. The complaint alleged Outcome Health and its co-founders, Rishi Shah and Shradha Agarwal, misled investors with false data and financial reports.

At the same time the suit was settled, CEO Shah and president Agarwal stepped down from their positions. They instead became chair and vice chair of the board, respectively. COO Nandini Ramani, who previously served as vice president of engineering at Twitter, has been serving as Outcome’s CEO in the interim.

At the end of May, the startup also announced four new members of its board of directors. They include Mike Gamson, LinkedIn’s senior vice president of global solutions; Robert Pelzer, former president of Novartis Corporation; Matthew Ray, founder and managing partner of Portage Point Partners; and Robert Schriesheim, Truvax Partners’ chairman.
