Going to ViVE powered by CHIME and HLTH?  The event will include this session on Monday at 2 pm —Whole-Person Care 101: CH. 1 Behavioral Health with four MDs covering this topic.

After the onset of the pandemic, drug overdoses exceeded all previous 12-month period records, and anxiety and depression quadrupled in our nation. This dramatic rise has heightened awareness of mental health’s impact on condition outcomes. Whole-person care goes beyond standard physical healing. Integrating behavioral health using community resources, technology, and education is essential to achieve holistic, person-centered care. This exploratory session will familiarize attendees with data access innovations to support primary care and behavioral health integration for crisis management and ongoing mental health support services.

Equiva extends thanks to our colleague, Eyal Shemesh, MD, professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and chief of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, for sharing his insights as a panelist for this session. Dr. Shemesh has a long history of research in leveraging digital tools to enhance patient care. He and his team received an $860,000 award from the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth program, using funds to ensure continued care for clinic patients during the pandemic by sending tablet devices to family’s homes. To overcome barriers for patients with limited technology access and literacy, tablets were preconfigured with one-touch access to telehealth visits, patient education materials and survey tools.
