Why Physicians in ACOs Are Happier With Their Compensation

Only 21% of primary care physicians feel they are fairly compensated, according to a new report from Pearl Health. However, primary care physicians who participate in an ACO were 56% more likely than non-ACO participants to believe they are paid fairly. ACO participants were also 15% more likely to believe that the way they generate revenue allows them to deliver holistic care.

Atlantic Health System Adopts NeuroFlow’s Platform to Improve Access to Behavioral Health Services

NeuroFlow — a company that provides behavioral health integration software — struck a new partnership with Atlantic Health System, which will be using the company's technology across 16 ACO sites. The health system's goals for the partnership are to expand access to behavioral health professionals, alleviate administrative burden among primary care practices and improve performance in its ACO’s value-based contracts.

The Biden administration aims to have all Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in alternative payment models by 2030. Aneesh Chopra, the federal government's first-ever chief technology officer and currently president of CareJourney, says this push for alternative payment models will lead not only to a reduction in unnecessary expenditures but also higher preventive service utilization and more primary care visits.
